Personalize Data Apps With Chart Colors

Add your flavor of to Data Apps by choosing unique or distinct colors for your charts.

How Do I Access the Properties Panel?

Select any visualization in a Data App and click Properties on the toolbar. Or, click the Properties button on the top right of your screen.

How Do I Format Colors in Charts?

There is a new option to manually select chart colors. This option is under the Configuration section in the Properties Panel and is called Color by. There are two options in the drop down:

  1. Dimension Value.
  2. Single Color.

1. Dimension Value.

The default option on all charts is to color by Dimension value. This means for each unique value in a data field, a color is auto-generated and assigned.

2. Single Color.

This new option give you the option to pick a single color for a chart. The five options are:

  1. Purple
  2. Blue
  3. Green
  4. Yellow
  5. Orange
  6. Red

When a single color is selected, different groups of data will are colored using a gradient (i.e., darker to lighter color).
