What is Toric?

Toric specializes in data movement and data ingestion pipelines for all major construction data sources. This gives you a single source of truth to turn your data into insights without writing any code and make it analysis-ready in a destination of your choice.

What Does Toric do?

Toric creates a single source of truth by allowing you to extract and transform your data into insights in a completely no-code environment. We offer full end-to-end solutions that allow you to perform everything from data ingestion, ELT, and warehousing to visualization and analysis within our environment - or, seamlessly incorporate a select set of our features into your existing enterprise data infrastructure.

Why use Toric?

Our mission at Toric is to help solve your data problems by making it easier, faster, and more affordable to continuously capture data from multiple sources. By streamlining your data ingestion pipelines, you can spend more time focused on what matters: using data to make smarter, better-informed decisions across your projects, portfolio, business, and operations.

What We Do

Data Pipelines

Integrate Toric's Data Pipelines capabilities into your existing data infrastructure for simple, reliable data movement.

What Are Your Data Sources and Destinations of Choice?

Easily incorporate Toric into your existing data infrastructure for an efficient data transfer. With Toric, handle millions, even billions, of data rows from multiple construction technologies without disturbing your current workflows. Keep your analytics, visualization, and data warehousing systems as they are - just add Toric into your ELT / ETL processes to better manage and get more analytics-ready data your chosen destination.

Toric Makes Construction Data Pipelines Easier to Handle

When dealing with construction datasets, defining and building the ELT/ETL processing is typically the most time-consuming step. How will you extract the data from the source? Do they have a mature API, or do you have to find another way to export the data? How frequently will you call the API? Can their API backend handle that volume of calls? How will you handle exceptions? It is a headache to build - and even after the initial build is complete, worrying about the ongoing health of these pipelines is enough to keep a data engineer up at night. Did the pipeline run? Did a schema change in the source system? Did an API token expire?

Perform tricky data engineering tasks without coding.

ELT/ETL pipelines are the trickiest part of a data engineer’s job - not only because of their inherent complexity, but also because they can be a thankless task. Typically, the business doesn’t fully understand the deep intricacies of these pipelines. The best ELT job is a boring one: it runs reliably, in a way that is both resource and time-efficient, with no disruptions to the business’s dashboards and analytics.

Toric helps turn construction data into insights faster.

Enter Toric and our construction-first data movement solution. We’ve partnered directly with the biggest construction data providers to build native webhooks that manage the heavy data movement complexity so that your engineering team can spend more time focused on what matters most: building analytics and extracting insights to push your business further.

Seamlessly implement Toric as a data movement solution in your existing enterprise data engineering framework with no disruption to your existing workflows.

Your team can keep all of your existing analytics, visualization, and data warehousing tools - simply plug Toric in to manage data movement for the data sources of your choice. Spend less time managing frustrating data engineering pipelines, and more time generating insights and enabling data-driven decisions.

Analytics and Insights

Implement Toric to manage data ingestion, storage, processing, transformation, and analysis- all in one place. No code required.

Creating a Single Source of Truth with Toric

Combining all of your various data sources to create a single source of truth is the critical first step on any path to high-quality data analytics, visualizations, and insights.

Bringing multiple sources together creates deep, informative context that allows users to ask big questions and get more informative answers. To achieve this, we must overcome data silos.

In the construction industry, this is a particularly challenging task - a company might store its project management data in Procore, schedule management data in Oracle P6, financial data in SAP, and have additional layers of data across even more tools.

Complex data structures such as these typically require custom-built, code-heavy solutions to get the desired result. This type of solution typically necessitates a team of full-time data professionals to build and maintain, as well as an arsenal of expensive tools for each step of the pipeline.

Performing Analysis and Insights with Toric

Data visualizations are an extremely effective way to communicate with your team, keep everyone informed, and eliminate single points of failure. By creating and sharing simple data visualizations with your team, you are able to democratize your data. This enables any member of your team to ask and answer questions about the progress and success of a build - and also creates a shared responsibility to track and tackle any potential warnings or problems that the data may reveal.

Live Data

Build realtime visualizations that are directly linked to the data – all the way to the source.

Control everything using dropdown, slider, cross highlighting, text variables and more.

Deep embedding of data visuals with your internal tools and experiences.

Using Toric's Data Movement solution to read in and transform data from disparate sources makes it easy to create a single source of truth for all of your data in a Data Warehouse. To start generating insights, simply create dashboards to answer any of your day-to-day business questions or concerns. Easily track all of your open PCOs or RFIs on a dashboard to ensure that they remain at top of mind and get addressed quickly. Keep an eye on overall project budget and schedule adherence with simple visualization displaying project spend and timeline. You can even include live, interactive BIM models in your dashboards to get a complete view of your build at any point in time.

How it Works

A Flow is a visual representation of a data pipeline within Toric. Flows are a collection of data input sources and operators used to transform data into insights. For example - a user may build one Flow that ingests, processes, and cleans raw data, and have a separate Flow for joining, summarizing, or grouping data. Flows are reusable and easy to duplicate, allowing users repeatability on future projects.

Toric’s workspace includes user-friendly features like drag-and-drop functionality, an overview panel for quick navigation, a library of 100+ operators, and a split view to see the impacts of your changes as you make them live in a data table. Flows are collaborative, meaning that multiple members of your team can work together as you build in real-time. Additionally, flows are completely no-code, making it easier to collaborate quickly with more colleagues.

At the end of a Flow, users can either write out the result data to an internal Data Warehouse for simple analysis within Toric, or you can also easily save it to an external cloud data store such as AWS S3.

A node refers to a processing unit or a step in a data pipeline that performs a defined operation on the data. It takes input[s], and produces output. In Toric, we chain Nodes together to create Flows.

Typically in a data engineering pipeline, building out the ELT processing can be the most time-consuming step - particularly for construction data, which can be notoriously deeply nested, dynamic, or just generally difficult. By building out an ELT pipeline with Toric’s no-code Nodes, an engineer can remove multiple layers of complexity and develop significantly faster than with a standard code-based workflow.

Nodes are the building blocks that are used to create complex data analytics workflows. Toric offers over 100 different Nodes to perform any ELT function from sorting and filtering columns and rows, exploding deeply nested records, joining, and exporting data out to your desired location. Here is a complete list of the Nodes that are available.

Toric makes it easy to integrate with your existing construction data stack by offering native Connectors to all major construction tools. We currently support over 60 different connectors, including these:

  • BIM tools like Revit & ACC

  • CMS products like Procore and Autodesk Build

  • Scheduling systems such as Oracle P6

  • Finance & ERP systems like CMIC, SAP, Oracle Textura

  • Cloud systems including Databricks, Azure, and AWS

  • See our full list of Connectors here

We are continually adding new Connectors, and actively taking requests to prioritize. We offer new Connectors as custom integrations at no extra cost under certain conditions including broad applicability, API compliance, data sharing, and reasonable API fees. The implementation timeline for custom integrations typically ranges from 30 days to 6 months. If you have a use case for a Connector that isn’t on our current support list, let’s talk!

With Toric, you can set any Flow or Node on an Automations to eliminate the need for any manual data extraction.

There are three types of automations:

Define a set time to run a task, such as “once per day at 5:00 EST”, or “every 4 hours”.
Only run on manual intervention.
Automatically stay completely up-to-date whenever there is a change in the source system.
