Improved Chart Configuration and Number Formatting

All charts have the new configuration in the Properties Panel. Add multiple measures and resize bar widths to sharpen dashboards and reports—format numbers in tables to show them in a more compact form.

How Do I Add A Chart to my Data App?

The fastest way to add a chart is to start with a New App and drag your source into the Data App workspace.

What Changed in the Chart Properties?

The Configuration section in the chart Properties is split into two separate tabs; one for data selection and another for chart formatting. The two tabs are:

  1. Chart setup.
  2. Format.

1. Chart setup.

We added support to add multiple measurements. Change the order of measurements with the drag handle to the left of each measurement. Delete measurements with the "x" button on the right.

2. Format.

Personalize chart styles by choosing how to color charts and what type of chart to display. Combo charts allow you to pick from either a bar or line chart for each measurement that you add.

Which Charts Were Improved?

Here's a list of charts that we're updated to the new configuration layout:

  1. Pie and Donut.
  2. Funnel.
  3. Treemap.
  4. Scorecard.

1. Pie and Donut.

The Pie and the Donut chart have the new configuration layout in the Properties Panel. Also, you could change the size of the donut hole in the Format tab by dragging a slider. If you put the slider to 0%, you will get a Pie chart.

2. Funnel.

We added connecting areas between funnel bars, so the funnel chart looks like a funnel. You could edit the bar widths for the Funnel and similar charts using the slider.

3. Treemap.

Treemap also chart has the new configuration layout in the Properties Panel. You could pick multiple measures for a given dimension like all other charts.

4. Scorecard.

You could pick more than one measure for a given Scorecard. For example, if your data does not include Gross Sales, you could select Profit and COGS and show the sum in the Scorecard.
